Oil and metal leaf on linen
I took countless photos in search of the right one, but metal leaf with its changing patinas is elusive and tricky. The surface shifts with the light—sometimes gold, sometimes aged gold, even hints of bronze.
This large painting was done after one of my photos in Dandenong Range.
7 cockatoos on large branche at Kallista ..I stayed a long time watching them.
Absolutely in love with Australian birds.
This work mixed two techniques oil and gilding . The reflection with the metal give a magical effect in opposition with the white of the cockatoos and branches leaf ..this composition is special and original it’s difficult to take a photo who made justice to this painting.
The colours change with different lights .colours gold/copper/blue/red rust with metallic reflections.
Framed by Creative Framing natural sand beach wood and gold leaf on a top of the frame
Oils part are slightly varnished.
